This place has the best service around but they are pricey! Great food though including the Caesar Salad. Not the best in the world still but very good.

Went to The Sage Room the other night with my family and had their table-side Caesar Salad. I thought it was very good but not great.

They did the traditional chilled plates and forks which one would or should expect from ANY table-side Caesar but they just didn’t put enough dressing on the salad in the long run. My sister-law loved it though. GREAT fish and okay service but overall way overpriced at about $300+ for the four of us. I don’t think I would go back.

I stopped in for quick Caesar Salad during lunch yesterday and was very happy with the salad. Very old-school and plenty of dressing served with great breadsticks. I would have this again for sure.

I have been spending more time in Central CA lately because of a friend who moved there…sorry but not by choice! In any case I try and make the best of things so we tried the local brewing company the other day. I was going for the Caesar Salad when I noticed the Green Goddess salad on the menu and it looked great…so I ordered and half of that salad and a half Caesar. Both are Anchovy based which is why they are similar.

I loved the green goddess and liked the Caesar! I have always wanted to try a Green Goddess Salad but it was clear that these folks know how to make a great dressing and add just the right amount of avocado, tomatoes and croutons. Worth stopping in for if passing through. The Caesar was about a 5 out of 10 so not great but good. The prices are good and the beer was awesome!

I just finished reading a great book called “The Sharper Your Knife, The Less You Cry” and I cried at the end and had to share why to see if it touches any of you the way it touched me. I don’t want to ruin the book for any of you so I’ll be brief and untelling as possible.

Since it would not be right to give away the end of the book let me just say that something was said about the work and effort a chef puts into preparing their food. While I realize I am not a degreed chef I still consider myself a very good cook and I put tons of effort into my food sometimes cooking for hours and hours and I do not feel recognized or appreciated sometimes by the people I serve the food to. While they usually do tell me it’s good/great/whatever, it’s not like they truly understand what I went through from shopping, to prep, to timing, to flawless service without any effort on their part….and so with that said….this is a must read for anyone who can relate to this or for anyone who wishes they were a chef or could cook for a living…or do something with food because it is their passion.

I saw Julia and Julia last week too and it was great. I love anything to do with food so any food movies or books are always of interest to me so please share. Most people would think about buying a big house or nice car if they won the lottery but for me it would be Culinary school all the way

Tahoe Joe’s very good Caesar salad…in all places Modesto CA

Went to dinner at Tahoe Joe’s in Modesto the other night. It was my first time there and I thought their Caesar Salad was very good! I had never been to or even heard of this place before but I guess there are a few around Northern CA.

I thought they were very pricey though and the fish I had was a bit too dry. Love the atmosphere because I love Tahoe. I’d go back fro the salad and Blue Moon beer ….with an organge slice of course.

Bourbon Street Bistro in Silvercreek area of San Jose terrible Caesar Salad

This place opened not too long ago so my friend and I finally tried it the night before last. The Caesar Salad was terrible. It was dry and tasted even worse than if I had made it from one of the bagged kits in the grocery store. I couldn’t find a website to add as usual so I’ll include the address.

My friend had the popcorn shrimp which was really good, and the fries could have been good but they were not cook enough and were soft. The banana pudding was very unique and the highlight of the dinner. The service was marginal at best.

Morels French Steakhouse & Bistro in Las Vegas Caesar Salad was “good”

I just got back from Vegas and wanted to log my Caesar Salad tasting while there. I went to Morels with my friend because we love table-side Caesar Salads and they had one on the menu.

I really had high hopes for the salad because this place is very pricey and the service is great. While I did enjoy the salad I was not overly impressed and it was not worth the price. Our server was very friendly as was the entire staff but it was the Caesar Salad I wanted to be impressed with. Go here perhaps for their long list of wines by the glass, wonderful wine list as well as huge cheese selection…although they were out of two of the four cheeses I selected, but don’t go exclusively for the Caesar Salad…stick with BOA Steakhouse at Caesars for this!

Heading to Vegas on the 13th…BOA for Caesar Salad for sure…I hope it’s still the best!

Hyatt Santa Clara lobby, the Caesar wasn’t bad for a hotel lobby

I went with a friend to an event around 7pm last night so we decided to get a bite to eat in the lobby as all the restaurants in the hotel were already closed. I got the Caesar Salad (of course) and it wasn’t bad…not great…but not bad, especially for a hotel lobby.
